Review: Stolen by J.M. Johnson

Some monsters aren’t meant to be caged. Especially when they find each other.

I just finished Stolen by J.M. Johnson and honestly? What a ride. This was my very first book by this author, and I picked it up on audio—something I don’t usually do for dark romance. The narrators absolutely nailed it, which made the entire story that much more addictive.

What Worked for Me

  • The characters: Rachel (our FMC) is resilient, stubborn, and just a little reckless. She drove me absolutely insane… but so did Dante. Together, they’re explosive.
  • The tension: The push and pull between them had me constantly yelling, “Why are you doing this?!”—but also hanging onto every word.
  • The emotion: This isn’t just spice and chaos. It’s messy, unhinged, and full of raw feelings that left me hooked.

The Vibe

Think:

  • Dark, gritty romance
  • Morally grey obsession
  • Stubborn FMC who refuses to be broken
  • A rage-fueled, tattooed biker you love to hate (and hate to love)

It’s chaotic, it’s emotional, and it’s one of those stories where you’re not sure if the characters are going to destroy each other—or burn the whole world down together.

Final Thoughts

Stolen gave me all the feels, in the best and worst ways. I laughed, I cursed, I questioned every decision these two made—and I loved every second of it. By the time I finished, I was already planning to read the next book, even though I know the audio is on the way. (Patience has never been my strong suit.)

If you love your romance dark, obsessive, and full of messy emotion, this one is worth diving into.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 stars from me.
