Ignorance is Loud, but Facts are Louder. I’m feeling spicy tonight.

Alright boys and girls, I felt inspired to write a rather confrontational blog post this evening. Why? Because I got into yet another argument where—surprise, surprise—they spouted misinformation, I presented facts, we go back and forth a bit, they got offended because they didn’t have anything to back their stance up, dragged politics into it, called me a few names, and then blocked me. Same tired script. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

So let me make this clear: Autism is not caused by, nor linked to, vaccines or “Tylenol”. Saying otherwise is like saying wood chips or pickles can cause cancer just because everyone diagnosed has been near them or eaten them. For Christ’s sake—let’s look at real evidence.

This cycle never ends, and I’m sick of it. But I keep speaking up because I don’t ever want someone—or their kids—to suffer the way I’ve seen others suffer. I’m sure many of you know what a child-sized casket looks like. But there is a stark difference between seeing one online and standing in front of one in person.

That’s why I ended my last argument with this:
“Again… I hope your ignorance doesn’t end up hurting your kids. I hope, for their sake, that when they come to you with real facts and fears, you don’t shut them down the way you do everyone else. Because right now, all you’re teaching them is that their voices don’t matter—and that lesson will hurt them far more than you realize.”

And of course—I was blocked. We’d already hit the stage of name-calling: I’m a “snowflake,” I’m a “lefty,” I’m “naive.” (Even though they’re the ones getting offended, and politics had nothing to do with autism or vaccines.) Then, predictably, I got a “MAGA” tossed in and click—blocked.

And you know what? I AM HERE FOR IT! If I pissed them off enough that they wasted that much energy on me, maybe—just maybe—they’ll use a fraction of that energy to actually do some real research. To take care of their family the way they deserve.

Look—I’m not perfect. I don’t even know who decided I’d be a good parent. But I’ll never be so closed off and ignorant to fact and science that I’d chance my own kids lives on it.

Here’s what I hope:

  • That someone reading this will pause before calling a parent “ignorant” for giving their child medicine or taking it while they were pregnant.
  • That someone will reconsider screaming their beliefs over scientific nuance.
  • That someone will care enough about lives—not politics—to actually listen.

Because this isn’t about left vs. right, or snowflakes vs. MAGA. It’s about keeping kids alive. It’s about valuing science and being open-minded enough to learn.

Yes, there are kids who can’t take certain meds or vaccines due to allergies. That’s real. But the fact that measles is back—literally blocks from my home—is terrifying. I can’t just ignore that. If a kid with an autoimmune disease catches that, they’re dead. And people shrug because it’s not their kid.

Kids with compromised immune systems rely on herd immunity. Vaccines save lives. Period. And no, Tylenol is not some nefarious “chemical boogeyman.” Acetaminophen is the actual chemical—and it’s in almost every pain reliever on the market. Don’t make it a villain just because you want someone to blame.

And honestly, Autism? Why do people even have an issue with it? I have autistic friends I’d never even know were autistic unless they told me. My youngest is autistic—and all it means is he learns differently. He builds robots out of anything he can get his hands on. He’s brilliant, creative, and sees the world differently. There’s nothing “wrong” with him. The diagnosis just helps us teach him better. And I dare someone to tell me otherwise.

The other side always falls back on “BigPharma just wants money.” Sure, Big Pharma wants money. I agree, Big Pharma Sucks! But that has nothing to do with Autism. Nothing. There is no “autism medication.” My son’s doctor told me that: autism is not an illness. Can it be disabling for some? Yes. But it’s not a disease. It’s not something you catch. It’s not something vaccines cause.

I don’t argue this shit to win—I argue because maybe someone’s world will change. Because while ignorance yells, facts speak truth into curious minds. But, I think it’s time we let truth be louder.

I make mistakes. I’m far from perfect. But I’ll never pretend facts don’t matter just because someone refuses to hear them.

That’s why I point to studies like this one (oh look, science!):
👉 Systematic Review: Prenatal acetaminophen exposure and child neurodevelopment

This isn’t about politics. This is about people, about science, and about refusing to let ignorance win.

I’m not here to debate endlessly with people who don’t actually want to learn. I won’t argue with anyone else on this. If you don’t like what I have to say, delete me. If facts make you uncomfortable, unfollow. I don’t need the dead weight—and neither do my kids.
